Vintage Victory War Savings Stamps Poster Print
This beautiful vintage American World War I postr print urging Americans to buy war savings stamps is by artist Haskell Coffin. Published in 1918 it shows a painting of an idealistic winged female angel figure holding a sword in one hand and a palm branch in the other. The beautiful dark haired girl with deep blue eyes wears a victory laurel wreath in her hair. She’s dressed in a full length classical Greek gown and is shown against a heavenly blue background. The caption reads, ‘Share in the victory. Save for your country. Save for yourself. Buy War Savings Stamps.’ The original image is courtesy of Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Division Washington, D.C.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
