"The Hippopotamus Polka" was a song written by Louis St. Mars in the early 1850s. This vintage illustration of a pretty young lady dancing with a hippo appeared on the cover of the sheet music for the song. The illustration is by John H. Sherwin. Card is blank inside for your handwritten message.
