Vintage - Teaching a Dog to Sit,

A vintage illustration by Sergio Bompard of a pretty lady from the 1920s bending slightly as she looks down at her cute little dog who's eagerly waiting for a treat. She appears to be asking the dog to sit or maybe teaching him to sit. She wears an afternoon dress in a yellow-gold colour with black trim and black heels. Her hat is black and green with a pink flower adornment. The Italian artist, Sergio Bompard, is a mystery as far as his life. Little is known about him and little is published online about him except that he was a prolific artist who specialised in illustrations for magazines and postcards during the World War I era. His subject matter was primarily beautiful women of the time, however, he also painted romantic couples, art deco style illustrations of women in the latest fashions (often with greyhound dogs), as well as children.
