Vintage Pola Pula roman theatre Italian travel Poster
From a 1920s poster Italy advertising poster for Pola, Istria, its sea, harbour and especially its arena or colosseum.
Following the collapse of the Austria-Hungary in 1918, Pula and the whole of Istria – except the territory of Kastav – were given to Italy under the peace treaty. Pula (Pola) became the capital of the Province of Pola.
For two years after 1945, Pula was administered by the Allied. Istria was partitioned into occupation zones until the region became officially united with the rest of Croatia within the SFR Yugoslavia on 15 September 1947, pursuant to the terms of the Paris Peace Treaties.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
