Vintage Lady on a Windy Day,

A vintage illustration by Sergio Bompard of a stylish young woman with her back against the wind as she tries to hold onto her hat and keep her dress from blowing up as she walks. She wears a black and white vertically striped dress accented with a lime green sash and scarf, black heels, and a lime green and blue turban-style hat popular in the 1920s. The Italian artist, Sergio Bompard, is a mystery as far as his life. Little is known about him and little is published online about him except that he was a prolific artist who specialised in illustrations for magazines and postcards during the World War I era. His subject matter was primarily beautiful women of the time, however, he also painted romantic couples, art deco style illustrations of women in the latest fashions (often with greyhound dogs), as well as children.
