Vintage Japanese Yokai Oni King Fine Art Coaster
This coaster set features a closeup of the severed head of the oni king Shutendoji of Oeyama, from an 1858 Japanese woodblock print by master Utagawa Yoshitsuya. Oni are a type of yokai monster in Japanese mythology, similar to ogres. Shutendoji was the leader of the oni in his time, and is known as one of the three great evil yokai of Japan.
