Vintage Ivan Choultse Jardin Villa Cypris Ceramic Knob

A gorgeous print of "Jardin Villa Cypris" a painting by Ivan Fedorovich Choultse (1874 - 1939). Ivan Fedorovich Choultse was a Russian landscape realistic painter of German ancestry – his family had lived in Russia since the 17th century. Choultse was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia – his family name was originally spelt Schultze. Snow and water were his favourite subject - he liked painting winter landscape, especially the Swiss landscape, and was known for painting impressive snow scenes in which the light seemed to come from behind the canvas and glow. Choultse died in Nice, France in 1939.
