Vintage - Hare and Tortoise,

This is a 1912 illustration by Arthur Rackham for an Aesop's fable, "The Hare and the Tortoise." The story is also known as "The Tortoise and the Hare." It depicts a group of animals - some storks, mice and a fox - watching as the hare and tortoise exchange a few words. The hare ridiculed the tortoise for his slow speed and challenged the tortoise to a race. Midway through the race, with the hare having a good lead, he decides to take a nap thinking he has all the time in the world. He awakens to find the tortoise crossing the finish line. The card is blank inside for your handwritten message.
