Vintage illustration classic children's book fairy tale image, the Bremen Town Musicians by George and Doris Hauman.
In the story a donkey, a dog, a cat, and a rooster, all past their prime years in life and usefulness on their farms, were soon to be discarded by their masters. One by one they leave their homes and set out together. They decide to go to Bremen, known for its freedom, to live without owners and become musicians there.
On the way to Bremen, they see a light in a cottage; they look inside the window and see four robbers enjoying their ill-gotten gains. Standing on each others backs, they decide to perform for the men in hope of gaining food. Their 'music' has an unanticipated effect; the men run for their lives thinking a large monster is making that strange sound. The animals go into the house to eat a good meal, and settle in for the evening.

THE ANIMALS HAVE LEFT THE FARMS WHERE THEY STRUGGLED FOR YEARS, NOW THEY'RE ON THE WAY TO BREMEN TO BECOME MUSICIANS. HUNGRY AND TIRED THEY STOP TO REST BY A WINDOW, THEY PEER INSIDE,, NOTICING THREE, LOUD MEN,, ROBBERS WITH THEIR LOOT, THE ANIMALS OUTSIDE DECIDE TO MAKE SCARY NOISES TO FRIGHTEN THE MEN. HEARING THE CACAPHONY THE ROBBERS FLEE AND THE ANIMALS MOVE IN! A HOME AT LAST. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I'VE ORDERED THIS MUG, FIRST ONE WAS FOR MYSELF,, THIS SECOND ONE IS A GIFT FOR A FRIEND VISITING FROM GERMANY.. So personal and very much a product of today's market. I personally purchased the Mug for myself to stop others from taking it LOL 😆 However this would make the perfect personalised gift for anyone - I am thinking Work Christmas gift etc
I like my coffee so I only wish the mug was slightly bigger. The Avatar I choose came out PERFECTLY it really does look spot on.
