This is a replica of a vintage portrait of 18th-century poet Phillis Wheatley. She was the first African American to publish a book of poetry. As a young girl, she was brought from Africa to American to be a slave. The Wheatley family of Boston, who had purchased her to be a household servant, broke with the tradition of the times and educated young Phillis. In the portrait, Wheatley is shown profile while sitting at a desk with a quill in her hand.

Turned this into a lockdown activity with my partner for our anniversary. I got the 110 pieces since neither of us are big on puzzles. It's was just one of the nice little fun activities we did together. Probably took 30 minutes all up. We're gona frame it and keep it as a memory. The quality of the print was fine. Our teeth look like they stick out a bit just due to the the shape of the pieces around our teeth. But no problems.
