About This Design

Vintage Dingle Ireland Travel Coffee Mug

Vintage Dingle Ireland Travel Coffee Mug

The Dingle Peninsula, located in County Kerry on Ireland’s rugged southwest coast, is one of the country’s most stunning and culturally rich regions. Known for its dramatic coastal scenery, rolling green hills, and charming villages, the peninsula offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and traditional Irish life. The Slea Head Drive, a scenic loop around the western tip of the peninsula, provides breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Blasket Islands, and centuries-old stone structures like beehive huts and early Christian sites. The area is part of the Gaeltacht, where the Irish language is still spoken daily, adding to its unique charm and authenticity. At the heart of the peninsula lies the vibrant town of Dingle, a lively fishing port filled with colourful houses, cosy pubs, and friendly locals. Dingle is known for its arts scene, traditional music sessions, and fantastic seafood. It was once home to Fungie, a famous wild dolphin who lived in the bay for decades and became a beloved symbol of the town. Whether you’re hiking Mount Brandon, exploring ancient ruins, or simply enjoying a pint and some live music, the Dingle Peninsula offers an unforgettable experience that captures the true spirit of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.

The quality of these larger mugs is very good. I have been putting mine through the dishwasher all the time and it shows no signs of fading or dulling. Ergonomically these are lovely to hold and have fast become my favourite mug for a big cup of tea or coffee. Totally recommend getting the tea infuser with the mug especially if you like using loose leaf tea, which always tastes better from my experience and is better for the environment. Printing was good, bright and most importantly accurately matches the colouring shown on the website.
