A vintage Christmas design depicts a scene in a children's bedroom where three African American children who are supposed to be asleep on Christmas Eve are being reprimanded for staying up too late waiting for Santa and playing with their toys. A stern-faced mama carrying a candle has grabbed their toys away, and the children are back in bed with the blanket pulled up to their chins, fearing punishment if they don't behave. At the bottom of the front of the card it says, "The Night Before Christmas." The message inside the card: "May you never be too grown up to search the skies on Christmas Eve."
