A vintage children's book illustration by Honour C. Appleton from the 1911 book "Songs of Innocence" depicts a young mother sitting on a sofa holding her new baby. She leans down as three young children surround her to meet the baby. Honour C. Appleton (1879-1951) was an English illustrator and artist who illustrated over 150 books in her career, beginning with children’s books and moving to literary classics.
