Vintage - Children at the Seashore,

A vintage illustration by Clara M. Burd depicts a young boy and girl at the seashore. She stands in the sand a distance away from the water with her hand shading her eyes as she watches the boy walk towards the water's edge. He's in a sailor suit and looks back at her. He's carrying a fishing net on a pole. Out on the sea, there is a sailboat just offshore. The American artist, Clara M. Burd (1873-1933) was born in New York, and studied art in New York City and later in Paris. She is best known for her illustrations for children’s books, but she also illustrated for magazine covers, designed stained glass and murals for churches, and painted children’s portraits and scenes from historical periods.
