Ad for Le Chat Noir Cafe, Paris, c.1896 Theophile Alexandre Steinlen (1859 – 1923) was a Swiss artist who became immersed in the avant-garde world of the Chat Noir Café after moving to Paris’ bohemian Montmartre section. In Paris, he created over 400 Art Nouveau illustrations, as well as advertisements and stylised nightclub posters, which often featured cats. Beautiful horse drawing on this coaster makes it a great conversation piece. Artist is very talented! The printing Zazzle did is nice and crisp, but not as black as I would have liked and the edges had some execess on them But some sandpaper fixed the issue
