Vintage Artwork - Little Girl and Collie Dog,

Vintage artwork by Arthur John Elsley depicts a scene inside a home where a little girl is trying to shield her American Collie dog from view of the housekeeper who is in the next room on her hands and knees as if she's cleaning the floor. The collie has a guilty look on its face with its head hung down, and the little girl gleefully holds up the skirts of her long white dress hiding the collie behind her. The collie's collar lies on the floor as if he may have been restrained, but broke out of his collar. In the next room, the housekeeper, with a smile on her face, points towards the collie as if playfully scolding the dog. In the background, a cat sits in a window will watching, happy that the dog is the one who got into trouble.
