Vintage American West, Held Up by NH Trotter

Held Up (1897) by NH Trotter is a vintage fine art American West painting. A herd of buffalo on the plains of the wild west on train tracks with a locomotive waiting for them to pass. About the artist: Newbold Hough Trotter (1827-1898) was mostly a self-taught artist, but also studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and The Hague in Holland. Trotter painted both animals and landscapes working directly from nature.

This was exactly what was wanted for my piano crazy grandson! He is self taught & is now having lessons by a top teacher and has been asked to play at various venues in the US!
