VINTAGE 240D TOTE BAG

The Mercedes-Benz 240D was first introduced in Europe in 1973. The car was full of luxury features and 4 times the cost of a typical car at the time. This was Mercedes' most powerful Diesel car at the time, but still only produced 65 Horsepower. The last 240D was imported to America in 1983. The 4 cylinder engine's horsepower was ultimately increased to 88 Horsepower, but it its performance was still extremely poor (by today's standards). In contradiction to the speed, many owners gave their cars FAST nick names - such as "WHITE LIGHTNING!" Over the years, the 240D became known for its tremendous reliability - due to its engines easy maintenance, simple design, thick sheet metals, and robust parts. They are known for travelling several hundred thousand miles, and many are still on the road today.
