Had the Vikings sustained their status as the first European settlers in North America (500 years before Columbus), the creation of this Vinland flag might be an assumption, but the presence of runes would not. Runes were characters in the Viking alphabet. There were various versions over time, but those displayed here were the most common. They surely would have provided the records of a culture that could have ultimately created such a flag. Thus, it seems fitting that this version of a hypothetical Vinland flag be composed of a rune pattern 'viking-ising' this phrase: "The future would be different."

This was exactly what was wanted for my piano crazy grandson! He is self taught & is now having lessons by a top teacher and has been asked to play at various venues in the US!
