Vincent van Gogh - Wheatfield with Crows Tie

Wheatfield with Crows (Champ de blé aux corbeaux), painted in 1890 in oil on canvas by Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise. A dark sky, wheeling crows and three paths cut through the yellow wheat in one of Van Gogh's broad panoramic canvases from Auvers. The painting is often wrongly described as his final work; in fact, he continued painting afterward. In letters from this period he wrote that his large wheatfields expressed sadness and extreme loneliness while also conveying what he found healthy and strengthening in the countryside, holding emotional tension and vitality together.
