Vincent van Gogh - Vase with Five Sunflowers Ceramic Tile

Vincent van Gogh - Vase with Five Sunflowers Ceramic Tile

Still Life: Vase with Five Sunflowers, painted in August 1888 in oil on canvas mounted on panel by Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh in Arles. This was one of the early Arles sunflower canvases painted in a concentrated burst during August, when Van Gogh worked quickly because the cut flowers faded so rapidly. He envisioned the sunflower pictures as a decorative series for the Yellow House in anticipation of Paul Gauguin's arrival. The original painting was later destroyed during the Second World War, making surviving photographs and records especially important for understanding the development of the series.

Very happy when my tiles arrived. So good to be able to choose any photo for personal use. The colours are very clear and are far better than I expected.
