Olive Grove with Orange Sky was painted in 1889 in Southern France in Saint-rémy-blanzy, during his stint in the asylum there, where he was allowed short supervised walks in the olive grove. Van Gogh is one of the greatest painters of all time, using striking colour, strong brushwork, and contoured forms. As a classic post-impressionist, Van Gogh significantly influenced the Expressionism movement.
