Viking Shield and Axes Coffee Mug
A Viking shield and crossed battle axes superimposed on a wooden plank wall background image. The shield is black on the left side with a red right hand print. The other side of the shield is blue with a white eagle in Celtic-Norse style. Customise by adding your own text on the reverse side.
Viking shields varied. I have based this on historical examples. Shields were sometimes covered in leather, as is this one. As a result the paint is imperfect allowing for a hint of the underlying leather to be seen. Iron edges were rare; I have opted for leather edging as was often used.
I opted for simple axe heads instead of the beard axe and more fanciful interpretations that are commonly employed by artists.

The quality of these larger mugs is very good. I have been putting mine through the dishwasher all the time and it shows no signs of fading or dulling. Ergonomically these are lovely to hold and have fast become my favourite mug for a big cup of tea or coffee.
Totally recommend getting the tea infuser with the mug especially if you like using loose leaf tea, which always tastes better from my experience and is better for the environment. Printing was good, bright and most importantly accurately matches the colouring shown on the website.
