The Havamal –
This design is an English translation of Stanza 8 in the Havamal, known as “the words of wisdom from Odin”. The Havamal was written in Iceland in AD 1270 in a collection of poems about Norse gods and heroes, called the Poetic Edda. Based on linguistic evidence, these poems are believed to be orally passed down since the 900s AD from Norway, during the Viking Era. These poems would have been the beliefs of the Old Norse people before Christianity flooded into their culture.
