In the late 1880s, Dr. Jayne's Family Medicines produced TONIC VERMIFUGE. A tonic for young and old .... for any Lung or Throat Disease .... and, a sure remedy for Worms. A maiden holds Baby Moses in a basket.
This may be one of the finest examples of Patent Medicine advertisements from the 19th century available today. Why? Most of the ads were for newspaper or magazines and of poor quality and small size. This one is huge with high resolution, in colour, and by an obviously accomplished artist. This is the actual calibrated restored colour of the original ad as it was presented to the public.
Dr. Jayne's spared no expense towards marketing this product. It must have been a flagship medicine in their line ... with proportionate sales.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
