NGC 6960 or the Veil Nebula is a cloud of heated and ionised gas and dust in the constellation Cygnus.
In this spectacular image we see the Western Veil of the nebula (also known as Caldwell 34), consisting of NGC 6960 (the "Witch's Broom", "Finger of God", or "Filamentary Nebula"), near the star 52 Cygni which appears prominently in the foreground.
The image comprises a three frame mosaic taken with 5 different filters: the standard Red – Green – Blue, and details enhanced
using narrowband data of Hydrogen (Ha) and Oxygen (OIII).
The analysis of the emissions from the nebula indicate the presence of oxygen, sulphur, and hydrogen. This is also
one of the largest, brightest features in the x-ray sky.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
