Utagawa Kuniyoshi - Kinhyoshi Yorin woodcut print

A Japanese colour print created by Utagawa Kuniyoshi of Japan in 1827 AD. It depicts the samurai warrior Kinyoshi Yorin (Yang Lin), 1 of 180 brave warriors, hero of Suikoden (Water Margin). We see the fighter clad in his war armour, wearing his sword (katana) and carrying a halberd. He also has a fur coat draped on his shoulders, and it seems to be quite windy as we can see the dry leaves blowing around, and he's also protecting his face with his hat. There are various descriptions on this print in Kanji characters (Japanese writing).

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
