A memorial to the men from Upshur County who died in World War I, World War II and the Korean War stands in from the Upshur County Courthouse in Gilmer, Texas. It also honours the men and women of the county who served in the armed forces.
Built in 1933, this is the fifth courthouse building in Upshur County. It's on the National Register of Historic Places. The first of the five Upshur county courthouse buildings was established in 1846. The county seat is the city of Gilmer, which is in northeast Texas.
The courthouse is brick and designed in a modern style

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
