United Kingdom Union Jack Flag of British Colonies Poster
The Union Jack, a tapestry woven with threads of history, flutters proudly, a symbol of a nation forged in unity. Its story begins in 1606, when King James VI of Scotland ascended to the English throne as King James I. To commemorate the union of these two kingdoms, he commissioned a new flag, merging the Cross of St. George, England's patron saint, with the Saltire of St. Andrew, Scotland's protector. - Centuries later, in 1801, the Act of Union joined Great Britain and Ireland. This historic event led to the addition of St. Patrick's Cross, a diagonal red cross on a white field, to the existing Union Flag. This design, a harmonious blend of three ancient symbols, has remained largely unchanged since then. - The Union Jack is more than just a flag; it's a living testament to the rich history and enduring spirit of the United Kingdom. Its vibrant colours and intricate design evoke a sense of pride and patriotism, representing the unity of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. - From the hallowed halls of Parliament to the bustling streets of London, the Union Jack flies high, a beacon of hope and a symbol of the nation's unwavering resolve. It waves proudly at sporting events, inspiring athletes to strive for victory, and it adorns the homes of British citizens around the world, connecting them to their homeland. - The Union Jack is a flag for all seasons, a timeless emblem that continues to inspire and unite. It is a reminder of the shared heritage and values that bind the British people together, a symbol of strength and resilience that has weathered countless storms. As the wind carries its folds, the Union Jack tells a story of courage, determination, and the enduring spirit of a nation. - This work created by the United Kingdom Government is in the public domain. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
