Title :越中庵谷峠 (Etchū Ioritani tōge / Etchu’s Ioritani Pass) As dusk falls over Etchu’s Ioritani Pass, the river winds through shadowed valleys, while distant mountain ridges fade into the twilight. Artist :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) 川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957)) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
