Title :雪の白ひげ（yuki no Shirahige / ゆき の しらひげ / Shirahige in Snow from “Twelve Scenes of Tokyo”) 「東京十二題」より This is a view of the Sumida River ferry. This area is known as the "Shirahige Forest" and has long been famous for its snow. Artist :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
