Ukiyo-e Triptych: Steam Train at Takanawa Seashore Poster
Utagawa Yoshitora (歌川 芳虎?) was a designer of ukiyo-e Japanese woodblock prints and an illustrator of books and newspapers who was active from about 1850 to about 1880. He was a student of Utagawa Kuniyoshi.
The Edo Ukiyo-e artists worked from the 1600's until the mid to late 1800's. Primarily bulk editions of woodblock prints, the style evolved from portraiture and scenes from stories to views of nature and famous scenery. The peak of the period was in the early to mid 1800's when famous artists such as Hiroshige, Utamaro, Hokusai, and Sharaku perfected the use of many colours and highly detailed cuts. Most of the works here are from this period.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
