[Ukiyo-E] Moon over the Plains - Yasumasa Poster

"One Hundred Aspects of the Moon" (Tsuki no Hyakushi or Tsuki Hyakushi) is a series of ukiyo-e woodblock prints created by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi between 1885 (Meiji 18) and 1892 (Meiji 25), when he was 47 to 54 years old. It is a collection of 100 large-format nishiki-e prints themed around the moon. The series took eight years to complete, and shortly after Yoshitoshi's death in June 1892, an album containing all 100 works was published with an index and preface. The series is noteable for its wide range of subjects and diverse artistic styles, and is considered one of Yoshitoshi's final masterpieces and most representative works.
