Two Red Squirrels (by Albrecht Dürer) Stone Coaster

This design features a watercolor painting by Albrecht Dürer (1471–1528), who was an artist, printmaker and theorist of the German Renaissance. It shows two squirrels, one facing the viewer as it eats a hazlenut and the other with its back turned away. The bushy tail of the lighter-coloured squirrel is beautifully rendered. The animals look playful and lifelike. The original German title of the artwork is "Zwei Eichhörnchen", which simply means "Two Red Squirrels", and it was completed in 1512.

The coasters are gorgeous, a quality feel and heavy weight. They look like a precious archeological find. A rustic stone juxtaposed with a modern floral black and white print. I like the way the print goes slightly imperfect on the cut stone edges giving them a kind-of natural beauty. They are a great product and I use them to protect the arms of my couch from hot cups of coffee. Printing is good happy with the quality.
