What is real, and what is pure fantasy? Yes, some of the ideas forming in the questioner’s mind may be fantastical. Even some of the “facts” may be flawed, and so may the intentions of certain well‑wishers. Still, it is time to take a step forward. If left untaken, the step will hang over the uncertain mind like a proverbial sword — much like the one vividly presented in the Rider–Waite 9 of Swords. The card’s meaning is constrained, yet its tension is immense. It implies an important step in a person’s life, one from which impactful circumstances will stem.
