It's nighttime, in an area that seems to be far away from a city. Friedrich created this interesting work in the early 1800s (c. 1825–30), over a century before the first man landed on the moon. A beautiful card. Highest quality materials and print. Misunderstood the explanation of the gold accent. I took it as the design would be metallic in its appearance. Still a lovely card and I am extremely happy with it overall. Perfect, only that I expected the gold to be metallic.
