The blue hour. Two children paddling at Skagen Beach is an artwork by Norwegian-Danish painter Peder Severin Krøyer (1851-1909). Life in and around Skagen has been beautifully preserved by the famous artists’ colony, which from the end of the nineteenth century time and time again returned to Denmark’s most northerly point. The atmosphere was immortalised on canvas in such pictures as Krøyer’s beautiful evocation of an evening on Skagen Beach with two paddling children.
