The Tuskegee Black Airmen's legacy transcends the heroics of its pilots, embracing the valour of navigators, bombardiers, mechanics, instructors, crew chiefs, nurses, cooks, and all support personnel involved in the "Tuskegee Experience." From 1941 to 1946, Tuskegee, Alabama, became a crucible of African American military talent, training around 1,000 pilots and supporting over 13,500 men and women in various essential roles.
