Turtle Islands Fantasy Nature Illustration Case-Mate iPhone Case

This image is inspired by the Gaia Hypothesis. It depicts an alternate reality where an ocean has covered the entire Earth, submerging even the highest peaks. Consequently, trees can only grow on the backs of turtles. The turtles are herbivorous, so they depend on this floating forest for food. However, they cannot reach the leaves or fruit on their own trees, generally speaking. Instead, each turtle grazes on its neighbour’s tree. They have to be interdependent. I drew this illustration with ink and coloured pencil, but added the Celtic knots in Procreate.
