Tristan and Isolde (1905) by JW Waterhouse is a vintage Victorian fine art portrait painting featuring a young couple in love. The fairy tale story of Tristan and Isolde is a quintessential romance of the mediaeval Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Several versions of the story exist, the earliest dating to the middle of the 12th century. Tristan and Isolde features the young couple when Tristan is sent to Ireland to bring Isolde the Fair back to Cornwall to be the bride of his uncle, King Mark. Isolde, the knight in shining armour, is about to drink a potion that will bind them in eternal love.
About the artist:
John William Waterhouse (1849-1917) was an English Pre-Raphaelite painter most famous for his paintings of female characters from ancient mythology and literature.

Magnet was a tad smaller then we thought but in the end the size suited perfectly. We are still getting feedback on the idea since we sent them out 2 months ago! We got these made for our wedding invites. Shipped very quickly and arrived within plenty of time. They look exactly like the picture with really good quality photo, print and finishing. Definitely the best looking magnet on our fridge. We only had sepia/black&white colors, but these turned out great. Initially when ordering we were a little disappointed with having no option to enlarge the size, however now that we have them, this size is absolutely fine. They look GREAT! Couldn't be happier!!!! PERFECT!! Exactly how it is pictured, if not better - great color, clarity. Was much better than I expected.
