Triple Jackalope Ornament

The image of the Triple Hares, joined at the ears, is an ancient and mysterious one. Travelling along the Silk Road, it found fertile ground in Mediaeval England, and most of all, the mythic landscapes of Devon. There it was carved in roof bosses, and crafted into stained glass. Many believe it to be a symbol of fertility, as rabbits often are, and in many legends, they are associated with the lunar cycle. The Jackalope, an antlered hare, is a folkloric creature of the American West, but shares characteristics with similar chimeras of Europe. Together, they are a perfect blend of the Old World and New, and spin their Hare Tales in an endless circle of celebration, around the moon!
