Tree in Landscape Early Spring Snow Postcard

A poplar tree stands solitary in the early spring snow, with other deciduous trees and conifers in the background of the landscape. Tracks lead to and from the lone tree in centre. This is an original photograph with artistic treatment suggesting a vintage silver gelatin print and is influenced by techniques of early photography. This photo was taken the afternoon of March 27 2015, Jacques Cartier Park, Gatineau (Hull) Quebec, Canada, right across the river from Ottawa, Ontario Canada. It's a week after the first day of spring and there had been a blizzard earlier in the day. The graceful beauty of the moody landscape is enhanced by the circle of the plate (the circle relates to infinity, nature magic and cycles of creation) as well as soft angles of the natural lines of snow and trees, shapes of use of negative space, subtlety of colour and the balanced contrast of darks and light tones. This plate makes a great gift or souvenir.
