Well it was me who wrote the first review this paper ever got, and nine years ago it was indeed a faded rubbery nightmare. However, it has substantially improved and quite lovely. Thick rich color, decent paper weight without being too heavy which makes it harder to wrap. Unique matte finish sets it apart from other wrapping papers. FWIW I bought this b/c I could not find vibrant plaid cardstock for my holiday cards - this was the only option in the colors I wanted. I offer a tip for anyone planning to use it where the edges are visible. Brush a black sharpie along the edges and it'll look even more luxe and expensive. Yes, the plaid is really beautiful and exactly as pictured. I am hard to please and I am happy with this. FWIW I bought this b/c I could not find vibrant plaid cardstock for my holiday cards - this was the only option in the colors I wanted.
