Torii crest is a crest depicting a torii. Although there are various shapes of torii, the only one used in the family crest is Myojin torii. The reason why torii was chosen as a family crest is probably because it is related to shrines, just like Mizugaki, Chigi, and Katsuogi, and is considered sacred, which is based on religious significance. (According to "Japanese Crests" by Nosuda Yusuke)
