Queen Esther (the niece of Mordecai) made petition to King Ahasuerus to help deliver her people from the hands of Haman (Est. 7th). Haman eventually was hung on the same gallows which he built for the purpose of hanging Mordecai (Est. 7:8) The Holy Day, Purim- Feast of Lots is a time to celebrate and give gifts!
