Thomas Andrews, who went down on Titanic, was Harland & Wolff's managing director of the Design Department. He was promoted to Chief Naval architect of the shipyard. As part of the Guarantee Group sailing as a representative of H&W, he was last seen in the 1st Class Smoke room standing in front of the fire place. The design seen n the background on this item is from the original mid-ship section drawing for Olympic and Titanic.
