Three Kingdoms Calligraphy Art Poster
The Three Kingdoms (三國) period of China (220 - 280) is one of the bloodiest in Chinese history, as the name implies, China was divided into three regimes the period, the states of Wei (魏), Shu (蜀), and Wu (吳). It originated in 220 AD when Wei replaced the Eastern Han Dynasty and ended in 280 AD when the Wu was defeated by the Jin Dynasty(晉). Although relatively short, this historical period has been greatly romanticised in the cultures of China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam.
It has been celebrated and popularised in operas, folk stories, novels and in more recent times, films, television, and video games. The best known of these is Luo Guanzhong's Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Chen Shou's Records of the Three Kingdoms.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
