Three Black Baldy calves greet a visitor to their pasture in Texas.
Black Baldy is a type of crossbred beef cattle produced by crossing Hereford cattle with a solid black breed, usually Aberdeen Angus. It is chraacterised by a white face similar to the Hereford, but the red body colour of the Hereford is replaced by black from the Angus. This is because both the alleles for white faces and black coat colour are both genetically dominant in cattle.
Black Baldy cows are noted for their good mothering abilities.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
