Poster with Thomas Hardy poems of his beloved dog. Hardy (1840-1928) was an English novelist and poet. His second wife bought Wessex (a fox terrier related to King Edward VII's dog Caesar) in 1913 for security at their house. Hardy initially took a dislike to the dog due to his unruly behaviour. Overtime, he became very attached to Wessex. After the dog's death in 1926, Hardy wrote two poems about him - the second was written from the perspective of the dog, allowing 'Wessex' to speak for himself. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
