The Unicorn 6 Cm Round Badge

This beautiful image of unicorns among the women is appropriately named "The Unicorns." It was painted by the French painter Gustave Moreau in 1885. ~ Moreau created over 8,000 oil paintings, watercolors and sketches throughout his life, his focus being intense romantic mythological images, detailed and jewel-like. He painted literary ideas and was at the forefront of the Symbolist movement. In 1892 he became a professor at the Ecole des Beaux-Art. Among his students were Marquet, Matisse and Roualt.
